Time Is A Luxurious Experience-

“The key is in not spending time, but in investing it.” – Stephen R. Covey. We only realize the true essence of time when we’ve already spent it..

When we are kids, we are told not to waste time unnecessarily and focus on making our future.

As we grow older, we are again reminded that the way to live our lives is to be responsible, hard working adults with no time to let loose.

But enjoying a cup of coffee in a park is a different kind of feeling that helps you truly understand yourself..

As I try to recall a similar instance in my childhood; I remember that day like it was yesterday.

I had just gotten home from my high school, I was exhausted after the entire day, and I had skipped classes to campaign for my friend’s election.

Helping him made me feel good about our friendship. I know that one day of skipping classes has made our bond stronger than ever.

My parents knew very well what I had been up to and were concerned about my academics. They sat me down and explained the importance of time management. They said that once the time had passed, you could never bring it back.

But, true friendships also demand time to be invested in them.

A few weeks ago, my children messed up their room to the point that I was about to snap and my first reaction was to think of ways to clean the mess..

But... I realised, my kids will never learn if I do their work for them, so I decided to leave it there. It stayed there for about a week (no kidding) but they eventually realised the importance of “keeping their room clean”.

What most people don’t realize is that all of us are trying to shape our lives based on our individual experiences and if we don’t do what we have to do and want to do, we will never learn to grow.

I truly believe that we should invest our time in things that enrich our life externally and internally, that we should wear what speaks to us now, and will do so a few years down the lane.

We should indulge in activities that will speak volumes to us even after a decade.

The one regret that most people have is that they weren’t bold enough to follow their dreams or they didn’t love themselves enough to step out of their comfort zones.

Life is all about exploring new horizons, and making new choices every chance you get.

While some people might think that investing in their looks is merely superficial as it only feeds their external selves, I feel it is quite the contrary.

“When you look good, you feel good, and if you feel good, you do good.” Georges St - Pierre was onto something when he said these words.

When you begin to love yourself on the outside, it triggers a chain reaction and makes you love yourself on the inside as well.

When choosing something to dress in, it is significant that you decide on luxury without compromising on comfort.

Time is a luxury only a few can afford but everyone can have.

You can choose to wear your time on your sleeve or on your wrist; it wouldn’t change the rhythm.

You want your clothes to talk the talk and walk the walk whilst leaving a lasting impression.

You want long lasting luxury that is set apart and becomes a style statement rather than a trend that gradually fades into oblivion.

What you choose to wear now or tomorrow will define you in the future, make sure you do it with elegance, and that when you look back you can casually say “it was an amazing time”
